Testing Centers

ICD-10 Coders Academy has tied up with Kryterion, leaders in Test Development and Delivery, to offer Certification Exams through the Kryterion platform. With a nationwide network of over 350 testing centers and 200 outside of United States, Kryterion's network of High Stakes Online Secure Testing (HOST) Locations are strategically positioned so that test takers have only a minimal distance to travel. Every testing center conforms to strict standards to ensure that every test taker has a consistent experience no matter where they choose to test.

When registering for an exam, test takers have access to a locator that allows them to find a center and time that is convenient for them. The HOST Locations are open all round the year except Major Holidays. Proctors at HOST Locations are required to follow standard operating procedures and are certified to ensure the highest level of security and customer care. Once you purchase a Certification Exam, you will receive a link and a voucher to register and schedule your examination at a center and location of your choice and convenience.

Authentication

After arriving at a Kryterion HOST Location, the test taker is required to provide the proctor with two forms of ID, including a government issued photo ID. They also have to bring with them a unique test launch authorization code that the Kryterion Certified Proctor (KCP) enters into the system before the test can be launched.

These security measures ensure that only the registered test taker is able to take the test and that test can only be launched by a proctor.

Policies and Procedures

Kryterion testing centers must comply with Kryterion's standards such as:

  • Separation of test takers; two test takers taking the same test cannot confer
  • The amount of space a test taker has to work in; adequate space for allowable test aids
  • Minimum requirements for computer equipment and bandwidth to the internet
  • Heating, lighting and noise level control
  • Minimum number of Kryterion Certified Proctors (KCPs)
  • Continuous monitoring or video taping of test takers
  • Reporting of any test taker problem or aberrant behavior during test sessions

Secure Delivery

Webassessor, in conjunction with our HOST Network, provides an extremely secure testing environment. The Webassessor system requires User IDs, passwords, and Test Taker and KCP specific authorization codes, which are linked together ensuring that no individual can access any part of the testing infrastructure without authorization. During the launch process a secure connection is established between Kryterion servers and the PC at the HOST Location using SSL encryption. The browser is also locked down to prevent the test taker from having access to any other applications or other browsers on the PC.

Special Accommodations

All HOST Locations are required to operate under the guidelines of equal opportunity, affirmative action, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) if in the USA, as well as all other local, state, and federal regulations. During the registration process, Test Takers with special needs are asked to contact their Test Sponsor who then notifies Kryterion of the requested accommodation. Kryterion will arrange for the accommodation with the HOST Location where the Test Taker would like to sit for the exam. Kryterion has worldwide access to skilled professionals with experience in all type of testing situations. These include, but are not limed to interpreters, test readers, recorders, or Foreign Language Interpreters.

HOST Locations are also required to abide by all laws regarding the accommodation of individuals with disabilities with respect to the accessibility of the physical premises as well as seating and computer workstation configurations.

Availability

Our Certification Exams can be scheduled all round the year except on major national holidays at over 350 HOST Locations across the nation.
